Yes, "Are you safe?" is what they ask, meaning "Are you going to harm yourself?". It has nothing to do with being safe from anyone else. Of course, tell them that you don't feel safe from them, and you're just "paranoid".

"Do you feel safe?" at least in this neck of the woods, really means "Are you going to harm yourself?" It has nothing whatsoever to do with whether we actually feel safe -- and why would we?

I dream about running away from the hospital last night. We did once. One of us was good at escaping, but back then I only watched and thought, 'oh, no. We wore white socks! This sucks!'

I am always confused about the question they asked me in the psych ward, 'Do you feel safe here?' What did that mean? Were you serious? I always answered yes when I actually didn't feel so, and then they could leave me alone.

The mental health team usually came to my place and lectured me what I couldn't do or say. When I finally told the person, who was going to represent me in the Magistrate's inquiry, what happened in the past, she said, 'Oh, I'm sorry. But this happens to many people. You need to get over it.' Err, I just remembered my past about few months ago, and no one seemed to have the time to talk to me apart from giving me medication. I wish I know how to get over it quickly.

I also have a small bag full of the necessities, including cigies. Just in case they get us before we can do anything. Yeah, I should put some coins in too...
